Access Scholarships aim to ensure that Australians from low SES backgrounds who have the ability to study at university get the opportunity to do so.

Students offered an Access Scholarship may undertake any on-campus undergraduate degree course at Swinburne.

To be considered, students must preference and be offered a place in any on-campus Âé¶¹ÒùÔº undergraduate course.

Any on-campus undergraduate course offered by Âé¶¹ÒùÔº.


Eligibility / selection criteria

To be eligible for the Access Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Meet the following criteria
    • Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
  2. Meet the following enrolment criteria:
    • be a commencing Âé¶¹ÒùÔº student in Semester 1, 2026
    • enrolled full-time or part-time and on-campus in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
  3. demonstrate financial hardship
     
  4. demonstrate personal hardship

Please note: Previous recipients of any type of Âé¶¹ÒùÔº University ACCESS (Equity) Scholarship are not eligible to apply for any other Âé¶¹ÒùÔº University ACCESS (Equity) Scholarship.


Value

This scholarship is valued at $5,500 in the first year and $5,000 per year for the subsequent two years, paid bi-annually, whilst you remain enrolled.

The scholarship is awarded for a maximum duration of 3 years and will be paid no later than Week 1 of each semester.
