Sir Edward 'Weary' Dunlop Scholarship 2026
The Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop Scholarship was established by Âé¶¹ÒùÔº and the City of Stonnington to commemorate the life and work of the late Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop, who was a resident of the City of Stonnington. The scholarship celebrates academic excellence and a sustained commitment to community service over a continuous period at least two years.
The scholarship is valued at $3,000 as a one-off payment.

Any vocational education or higher education course offered by Âé¶¹ÒùÔº
Eligibility / selection criteria
To be eligible for the Sir Edward 'Weary' Dunlop Scholarship, applicants must:
- Meet the following criteria:
- Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or Australian Permanent Resident with Humanitarian visa
- Meet the following enrolment criteria:
- be a continuing Âé¶¹ÒùÔº student in Semester 1, 2026
- enrolled full-time in an eligible course (see courses eligible in section above)
- enrolled in their final year at Swinburne and expecting to finish their course in 2026
- Achieved outstanding academic results in their completed units
- Submit a statement of no more than 500 words on the significance of the life of Sir Edward Weary Dunlop in respect of community service.
- Provide evidence of current involvement in community affairs which must have been continuous for a period of at least two years. Community service could include:
- local government sponsored voluntary activity
- work for a recognised charitable organisation
- service with youth community organisations such as Scouts, Girl Guides, etc.
- service through community sponsored sporting activities
- community service through such schemes as the Duke of Edinburgh Award

This scholarship is valued at $3,000 (one-off payment).
